3 essential tips for preserving your non-stick pans

A simple guide to preserving your pans longer...
3 consigli essenziali per preservare le proprie padelle antiaderenti

Our kitchen tips column continues, and while in the last episode we talked about steel (3 essential tips for preserving your steel pans), now it's the turn of non-stick pans.

It is well known that non-stick cooking utensils can be irreparably damaged if not treated with the right care and for this reason, if we want them to last longer, we must learn to take care of them with a few small habits:

  1. AVOID OVERHEATING
People often make the mistake of overheating an empty pan before adding ingredients; sometimes online recipes even recommend this. Wrong! This is because overheating could damage the coating. Our advice, if you need to preheat your pan, is to use additional fats (a drop of seed oil, for example). Otherwise, simply place the food on the cooktop immediately after turning on the burner or induction hob.
  2. AVOID THERMAL SHOCK
How many times have we held a still-hot nonstick pan under cold water to prevent food residue from drying on its surface? Well, this is another habit we should stop immediately. The heat of the pan meeting the cold water causes a thermal shock, which can damage the coating. We always recommend waiting for the pan to cool before washing it with warm water and a little detergent.
  3. DISHWASHER
Contrary to popular belief, our nonstick products are dishwasher safe. However, there are some conditions that must be met. Nonstick pots and pans can be washed in the dishwasher using an eco cycle and liquid soap.

These are just some of the precautions you need to take to have impeccable pans, but for complete instructions visit THIS LINK .
